Jawaharlal Nehru University or JNU as it is popularly known as is situated in Delhi. Spread over an area of 1000 acres and based on Nehruvian principles, the university is an important centre of learning. Established in the year 1969, by an “Act of Parliament”, the prime objective of JNU is to establish itself as a premier centre of higher education. Further the university also aims at 3rd world studies and promotion of research.
