Rajiv Gandhi Indian Institute of Management

The Rajiv Gandhi Indian Institute of Management, Shillong or RGIIM is a Business School that was recently established by the Government of India in Meghalaya. It is the 7th and the youngest IIM in the list of IIMs in India which are the best B-Schools in India. This management institute is presently operating from its temporary campus at Mayurbhanj Complex. The permanent campus is being set up at Shillong township.

The launch of the 7th IIM (RGIIM), gave a boost to management education in the North East. RGIIM aims at globalizing and modernizing the nation by promoting higher education all across the country and especially in north east India.

Academic Programmes at RGIIM

The Rajiv Gandhi Indian Institute of Management, Shillong at present is offering-

• 2 years Post Graduate Programme in Management (PGP), this is a full time residential programme for the graduates from any discipline
• comprehensive 2 years Post-Graduate Diploma in Management Programme (PGDM)

This Institute of management education will also offer Fellow Program in Management (FPM), Management Development Programmes (MDPs) and Research programmes in the near future.

Centre for Development of North Eastern Region

The Centre for Development of North Eastern Region (CEDNER) previously known as The Accelerated Learning Centre (ALC), at the Indian Institute of Management Shillong offers short term as well as long term programmes relevant to the society. An exclusive opportunity is provided by this centre of IIM Shillong to the business executives, entrepreneurs, and other officers to develop their skills in various areas of management.

Admission to RGIIM Shillong is done according to the scores of the Common Admission Test (CAT) conducted in the month of November every year. IIM Shillong provides winter internships whereby students undergo internships in January and February.
